- Optimising data pre-processing code for national-scale financial datasets in support of an economic sociology research project at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Social and Political Science.
- Training my cat to get used to a new cat fountain!
- Tried out new task management systems and settled on Things for its affordability and its ability to schedule recurring tasks relative to the date of completion. Amazing Marvin was high up there.
- Growing wheatgrass for my cat. I panicked during the first week, but around 30% germinated and it keeps coming.
- Picking and choosing new garden tools for the upcoming mini garden renovation.
- Flipping through some books as usual—including ones on gardening, urban infrastructure, psychoanalysis, and mindfulness.
- Cleaning, tidying, organising. Reunited with my Kondo Marie books from years ago to keep the motivation up.
Got sunburnt on the last Sunday of June, walking along Portobello Beach to and from Musselburgh. It was shocking because I rarely get sunburnt. Lesson learned: don’t skip the sunscreen—even in Scotland, where you only need it twice a year.
